Startup Challenge finale Log

Startup Challenge Finale

It all culminates on Saturday May 12 with the Startup Challenge Finale at CSUMB @ Salinas City Center, when the teams make their final pitches and display their companies’ wares and services, culminating in the Otter Tank showdown. The day features a Venture Showcase, where competitors and successful alumni alike showcase their businesses. Browse the Venture Showcase to learn about regional businesses that are bringing jobs and money to our local economy, and sample the delicious fare of emerging food and beverage companies.  Startup Challenge alumni include beekeepers, makers of sweet potato pies, cold press coffees and fresh pressed juices. There are sweets and confections, and savory selections alike. Don’t forget your business cards, because there are plenty of opportunities for networking with servicers, suppliers and potential employers alike. Maybe you have some seed money to invest in the next big thing? Next, grab a seat for the Otter Tank and cheer on your favorite team, as they battle it out Shark Tank style for the cash prizes. Startup Weekend Monterey Bay logo

Techstars Startup Weekend Monterey Bay 2019 Powered by Google For Startups

Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations. Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. All teams hear talks by industry leaders and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurials. The weekend is centered around action, innovation, and education. Whether you are looking for feedback on a idea, a co-founder, specific skill sets, or a team to help you execute, Startup Weekends are the perfect environment in which to test your idea and take the first steps towards launching your own startup.
