Looking at hundreds of startups applying for angel funding each month, we found that many of the applications missed the mark. It wasn’t because the idea was bad or the business couldn’t work. It was because the entrepreneurs don’t know what they need to succeed. We created videos to help understand how to succeed and put them online for free.

Digital NEST is a spot that inspires its members to be creative, innovative, and self-sufficient. This technology workforce development center strengthens our community by preparing young people to be technology leaders in Santa Cruz County and beyond.Through training, peer collaboration and professional mentorship, youth are supported in mastering the technological skills they need to pursue higher education and careers in our globally connected world. Its members work with state-of-the-art technology in a safe and learning-focused environment.

El Pajaro CDC Kitchen Incubator

The Kitchen Incubator provides all the amenities and necessary licensing to help the participants overcome the challenges of complying with strict food safety regulations, while ensuring safer food for the consumer. In addition, El Pajaro CDC provides technical support, business assistance and access to micro-loans to participants, encouraging the new businesses to expand and succeed. By accessing the CKIP services, local food entrepreneurs save the costs of commercial grade equipment and kitchens that now restrict their ability to start or expand their food businesses.

El Pájaro CDC is best known in Watsonville for the successful retail business incubator: Plaza Vigil. Plaza Vigil assists low to moderate-income, Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs with starting and operating a successful business in the Plaza Vigil located in downtown Watsonville.
